it’s okay to not be okay.

it's okay to not be okay

In complete truthfulness, I’m writing this post because I made a promise to God that I would keep up my writing.

I have no idea why God wants me to write these blogs, especially on weeks like this week.

But, I know that He wants me here and I trust Him too much to stop the writing and posting.

Chaos Abounds

Life is chaotic in our household. Mom is home from the hospital, but far from better or even okay.

I was thrown back into my own health saga this past week with 4 appointments of my own.

Meanwhile, I’m dealing with the traumas of having my mom almost die again, still hanging on by the fringe, and dealing with life in the medical world during a worldwide pandemic.

People think that life gets easier when your loved one comes home from the hospital, but the truth is when a loved one comes home from the hospital the hard work only begins for the family.

There are few words to describe how bad mom’s bloodwork is these days and it directly correlates to how she is feeling.

Mom needs constant care and attention right now.

Yesterday I picked up her medicines at the pharmacy and they couldn’t even fit all the medicines through the window.

I ended up having to go inside the pharmacy and was then handed a large cardboard box filled with her new prescriptions.

Peace Surrounds

Life is chaotic, but peace Himself surrounds us.

We have hope and trust that God will make all things work together for good.

It doesn’t make things any less painful or exhausting right now, but it does push us on to tomorrow.

God didn’t promise us life would be easy. Matter of fact, He promised us that this life would be filled with hardships.

In the thick of hardships is always where I’ve experienced the presence of God the most.

He has not forsaken us.

He is with us.

He is giving us the strength to carry on.

A friend reminded me the other day that it’s okay to not be okay. I needed the reminder and I want to give you that reminder as well, “Friends, it’s okay to not be okay.”

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6
