Have you ever tripped on nothing but thin air? Yeah, that was September 2020 for me.
The other night I was overwhelmed with the amount of struggle we’ve endured as a family in the last couple of years.
I was overwhelmed with constantly being overwhelmed.
It’s been two years since my mom was first put on the ventilator. It’s been a year since I underwent my life-changing 10-hour back surgery.
The last 2 years I’ve spent most of my time in hospitals or commuting between hospitals.
The heaviness of it all was making it hard for me to breathe.
There has been a lot going on in my life and in the lives of the people around me, and in September it seemed as if every time I was close to solid ground I would fall flat on my face.
The devil tried to keep me on the ground and honestly, it was really tempting at times.
But, here’s the thing, I’m competitive…I don’t like to lose, especially not to something/someone undeserving.
I can’t name a more undeserving being than satan. The father of lies and confusion does not deserve a victory.
God sent His son Jesus to die a criminal’s death so that I could stand in victory.
Defeat is What the Devil Can Eat
That night as I struggled to breathe, God nudged on my heart that when I woke up I was going to be faced with a new day and a new month. His mercies would be new when I woke up and there was no better time for a new beginning.
The things I’ve seen and experienced are things that time can never heal, but I believe wholeheartedly that God can and will heal me from the inside out.
I’ve grown in ways that I could’ve never imagined happening prior to experiencing the pain and suffering.
My scars both visible and invisible are my battle wounds and my story.
So, here I am, it’s the beginning of October, and I am publicly declaring that victory belongs to me, and defeat is what the devil can eat!
This is my new beginning.
Claim Victory With Me
I don’t know what the last month, year, or even decade has been like for you, but I’m inviting you here and now to claim your victory.
You can choose to believe with me that the best is yet to come.
Declare with me that God has plans for your life that are for your good and to prosper you.
October 2020 let it be the month that we get off the ground and find solid ground again.
His mercies are new for you every morning and He is making ways for you in the midst of your wilderness.
He is carrying you out of your desert place.
He desires to pour new wine out of you.
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.”
1 John 5:4
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”
Romans 8:31-32
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:19
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.”
Luke 5:37-38
The best is yet to come, I believe it! Do you?
